Third Time's a Charm

Third Time's a Charm

A visit from Steve Hudner at the Community Foundation is not very common, but CEO Gary Byrne had a sense of familiarity with his most recent visit. After 14 years on the Board of Directors, Steve was officially submitting his resignation—again. Rejected twice in the past, this time Steve was prepared to do battle with his words, but when Byrne simply accepted, Steve was taken aback, “You do?” As they say, “The third time’s a charm,” and Steve’s retirement is well-deserved.

A descendant of a local pioneer family, Steve brought many strengths to the Board including his perspective and many years of experience actively supporting our community. Chairman, Phil Fortino said, “I will miss his sense of humor.” Steve always had a good yarn to tell punctuated with his brand of wit.

Steve will continue to be involved with the Community Foundation and volunteer with the Scholarship Committee, but for now, he would like to spend more time in San Francisco with his family and friends. We wish him all the best and look forward to hearing about his adventures.
