Fine Art Imagery of Don Smith

Fine Art Imagery of Don Smith

"When taking landscape photos, pay attention to emotional tugs." — Don Smith

There is more to philanthropy than giving of one's Treasure–this act of generosity also includes giving of one's Time and Talent, and there is one photographer, in particular, that has been sharing his talent with the Community Foundation for several years.

Don Smith began his association with the Community Foundation in 2012, allowing us to use his landscape images of San Benito County in a variety of publications, and we couldn’t be more proud to continue our partnership by including his images within the pages of our new website.

One of our goals with the new website was to include more photographs of the people we serve and the community where they live, allowing potential donors to see into our world. San Benito County is beautiful, and Don Smith has captured the heart of our community in every image.

His fine art landscape imagery can be found in many private collections and has been published in numerous magazines, calendars, and greeting cards. His work has also been displayed worldwide in the Getty Museums of Art. In addition to capturing the beauty around us on “film”, Don is also a landscape workshop instructor, offering as many as 17 instructional sessions a year throughout the Western United States.  He is also renowned as a stock photographer and has written three books.

Don and his family live in the Monterey Bay Area and the Community Foundation could not be prouder to be the recipient of his generosity. Please be sure to visit Don’s website and take a peek at his portfolio for yourself.

The Community Foundation would like to thank everyone who contributed their Talent through stories and photographs–we would not be able to tell the story of San Benito County and the nonprofits we serve without your help.
