12 Days of Giving Impacts Many in our Community

12 Days of Giving Impacts Many in our Community

"At the event to thank sponsors, it was nice to hear that 12 Days of Giving continues to get new Sponsors, a total of 27 provided matching funds this year." — Salina Chacon, Grants and Project Manager

In 2012, the Community Foundation for San Benito County established a pass-through account for 12 Days of Giving, a local fundraising event that benefits five nonprofits in our community. In 2018, CASA of San Benito County, Chamberlain’s Children Center, Community Food Bank of San Benito County, Emmaus House, and Sun Street Centers were the recipients of your generosity.

The event officially begins on the first day of December and lasts for 12 days, but the fund is available for donations whenever your heart feels like giving!

Because of You…

...79 foster kids woke up Christmas morning with smiles on their face, and CASA of San Benito County continues to provide advocacy for these children throughout the year.

...18 children at Chamberlains Children Center still believe in Santa and live in a nurturing environment that helps them cope with many hardships.

...10,500 clients received groceries through the Community Food Bank for San Benito County in 2018, providing food for their families, especially during the holidays.

...53 women and children enjoyed a family Christmas at Emmaus House without stress and without fear of abuse.

...11 women experienced a sober Christmas and will receive additional education and treatment at Sun Street Centers regardless of their income level.

We live in a very compassionate community. During a gathering after the event to thank Sponsors, President/CEO Gary Byrne reported, “In 2018, KSBW hosted Share Your Holidays, and they raised a total of $184,000 to be divided between three counties. In comparison, 12 Days of Giving raised $154,000 that will stay in San Benito County.” The Community Foundation is privileged to be part of this event, distributing funds to the nonprofits after all the numbers are tallied. Well done, San Benito County, and keep those gifts coming with your donation!
