The All New SB Gives Community Auction
The numbers speak for themselves: 44 nonprofits, 209 auction items, 385 bidders, and over $31,000 raised from our incredibly generous community during this auction effort. It is estimated that local nonprofits in San Benito have lost over $500,000 due to canceled fundraising events over the past 9 months during the COVID-19 pandemic. With this in mind, San Benito Gives Community Auction was created, with the support of a stellar volunteer committee, to help our local nonprofits recover lost fundraising dollars and promote their missions to a wider audience.
The Community Auction took place over a 5-day period- from November 13th through the 17th, and with 209 items, had something for everyone. The auction platform also gave community members the ability to donate directly to participating nonprofits during the event, with the Community Foundation matching 100% of these donations!
On behalf of the 44 nonprofits that participated, we give thanks to all that made the event possible: to those that encouraged others to participate, and to those that helped spread the word of the need of nonprofits serving the needs in San Benito County.
Thank you to our participants and supporters of the event. Every dollar gathered is the direct reflection of the work of the committee, community and volunteers gave to respond to the need of the nonprofits.
