Sharlene Retires and We Welcome Ana

Earlier this year our Marketing Coordinator, Sharlene Van Rooy, retired after 5 years of great service to the Community Foundation for San Benito County. Sharlene has been an integral part of the Foundation and her hard work, dedication, efficiency and attention to detail will be greatly missed. We wish her the best of luck with the next chapter of her life and may she keep inspiring us with all the passion that she lives life with.

As we say farewell to Sharlene, we would also like to welcome Ana De Castro. Ana is a San Benito High School graduate with a Communications / Public Relations degree from CSU Sacramento. She has volunteered with the local LULAC council and is bilingual. Ana obtained her Master’s Degree in Business Management and Marketing from Colorado State University. Although she has big shoes to fill, her college coursework and recent work with the North Monterey Unified School District as their Public Information Officer make her a fantastic fit for the Marketing Coordinator position at the Foundation.

Gary Byrne, President/CEO of the Foundation stated, “What a pleasure it was to have Sharlene as part of the foundation team over the past 5 years. She not only brought her vast experience but a deep love of the nonprofit community and her many years of giving back. We wish her nothing but the best in her retirement. Ana is a great asset to our team. She brings experience, vision and enthusiasm and we are excited to have her here.”
