Scholarships 2022
The Community Foundation for San Benito County is now accepting scholarship applications for students pursuing or continuing higher education.
The deadline to apply for a scholarship is March 13, 2022.
The Community Foundation for San Benito County is now accepting scholarship applications for students pursuing or continuing higher education. The Foundation administers over 30 scholarship funds established by individuals and families and awards over $60,000 a year to San Benito County students.
The following scholarships are available through the Community Foundation website at givesanbenito.org. Criteria for each scholarship varies, so please check when applying.
- Timothy Conley Baldwin Leadership Scholarship - For graduating high school seniors in San Benito County with a background or interest in leadership roles.
- Timothy Conley Baldwin STEAM Scholarship - For graduating high school seniors in San Benito County interested in science, technology, engineering, art, or math
- Martha Metzger Fine Arts Scholarship - For students interested in pursuing education in music, film, photography, drawing, painting, journalism, or ceramics.
- William Burton Nichols Memorial Scholarship - For graduating SBHS seniors with an interest in science.
- Jean Gillaspie Memorial Nursing Scholarship - For graduating seniors in San Benito County pursuing a career in nursing.
- Jean Gillaspie Memorial Athletic Scholarship - For graduating seniors in San Benito County that have been accepted to an intercollegiate sports team.
- Jean Gillaspie Memorial Business Scholarship - For graduating seniors in San Benito County pursuing a career in business.
- Jean Gillaspie Memorial Scholarship - For graduating seniors in San Benito County that are on Autism Spectrum.
- Latino Generations Scholarship- For Latino(a) high school seniors or college transfers of San Benito County attending a 2-year college, 4-year university, or certified vocational training institution.
- Class of 1977 Culinary Arts Scholarship- For graduating seniors at San Benito High School that will be enrolling in an accredited college or culinary education institute to study culinary courses.
- Class of 1977 Emilee Daves Memorial Art Scholarship- For graduating seniors of San Benito High School pursuing art studies at an accredited college or art institute.
- Jennie and Henry Solorio Memorial Scholarship- For students in San Benito County including, independent or continuation schools, or college student transfers who will be enrolling in either a two-year or four-year college, or a certified vocational training institution. Students must be of Latinx heritage, whose parents have not attended college.
- Robert D. Scattini Memorial Scholarship- For graduating seniors of San Benito High School interested in pursuing an education in the arts, with a strong preference for music majors.

The Community Foundation believes that a thriving community depends on supporting the educational endeavors of future leaders and talented individuals entering the workforce. Scholarships provide hope and financial assistance which allow students to worry less about covering the cost of tuition, books, supplies, and other essentials, and focus more on the opportunities before them.
