San Benito GIVES Receives Funding from Monterey Peninsula Foundation

The Community Foundation for San Benito County gets excited when we receive a grant, especially a $50,000 grant from the Monterey Peninsula Foundation to enhance our local, online fundraiser; San Benito GIVES—Tuesday, September 10, 2019. Their grant of $50,000 last year was tripled with a total of $165,934 raised for 32 nonprofits in San Benito County. The Community Foundation could not host this event without their support, and we are glad to be their neighbor.

Details are just coming together for San Benito GIVES, but now is the time for nonprofits who would like to participate in 2019 to prepare. Nonprofits must be a 501(c)3 organization that provides services in San Benito County, and they must establish a fundraising page through MightyCause.org. Applications for participation in San Benito GIVES will be available in June with an announcement sent out to all nonprofits via email.

We thank the Monterey Peninsula Foundation for their generosity. They host remarkable golf tournaments and then focus the philanthropy made possible by these tournaments to enhance the quality of life across Monterey, Santa Cruz, and San Benito Counties. In addition to a grant for the Community Foundation, 18 other nonprofits who provide services in San Benito County received a total of $1,885,000.
