San Benito GIVES 2018 is Going to Be Huge!

San Benito GIVES 2018 is Going to Be Huge!

"This is a wonderful opportunity for our local nonprofits, and we are so pleased to partner with Monterey Peninsula Foundation." — Gary Byrne, President/CEO

The Community Foundation for San Benito County has received a very generous grant for $50,000 from Monterey Peninsula Foundation (MPF) to use for matching funds, prize money and promotion of local nonprofits during San Benito GIVES on Tuesday, May 15, 2018. Nonprofits who serve San Benito County are eligible to participate.

San Benito GIVES is a 24-hour fundraising effort powered by Razoo and hosted by the Community Foundation for San Benito County to raise awareness of our local nonprofits and the needs facing their clients on a daily basis. It is an opportunity for donors to discover these needs through a single, online donation platform (sanbenitogives.razoo.com) and then give from their heart to the charitable causes they care about the most.

Nonprofits who participate will be eligible for cash prizes, totaling $10,000, throughout the day. Three prizes will be given away to nonprofits who have the most unique donors at the end of the day, including donations made in advance of the event through the fundraising platform. A dozen other cash prizes are available, and nonprofits will also receive matching funds based on their totals for the day.

Promote Your Endowment Fund

Up to $10,000 will also be available in a special 1:1 match for nonprofits who promote their endowment fund at the Community Foundation, a mechanism that provides annual distributions for charitable work, in perpetuity. By depositing a minimum of 20% of funds raised during San Benito GIVES to their endowment fund, nonprofits will receive a 1:1 match (up to $1,000). In addition, these nonprofits will also be eligible to receive a free video produced for their organization by San Benito Live.

The Community Foundation is encouraging all nonprofits in San Benito County to participate in this day of giving. Applications are available here. Throughout the day, share statistics on social media, cultivate new donors, and boost the level of awareness for current needs in the community. In 2017, over 600 unique donors gave over $37,000 to their passion, and the nonprofits who took part appreciated the Power of Philanthropy.

Every donation makes a huge difference to the people who live right here in San Benito County—better lives through giving—and this event would not be possible without our partnership with Monterey Peninsula Foundation. MPF partners with over 250 nonprofits each year to make a difference in Monterey, Santa Cruz, and San Benito Counties, and their partnership in San Benito GIVES is going to make it a great day.
