Effective Communication: Play Tennis Not Golf
Tuesday, October 24, 2017
8:00 am to 10:00 am
St Francis Retreat Center, 549 Mission Vineyard Road, San Juan Bautista, CA
Your communications (whether print, person-to-person, web or social media) needs to be more than just “getting the word out” or hitting your message far. The winning formula requires you have a partner ready to receive, understand and respond—just like tennis.
Luis freely steals and shares with you great ideas from fellow social sector communicators Beth Kanter, Holly Minch, Dan Cohen, Nancy Schwartz, John Kenyon and Rebecca Leet.
Together, we'll discuss how to put those ideas into action and build (or improve) your communications by making it a solid and worthwhile exchange with your supporters. Leave with a handful of simple tips you can start using today!
Luis Chabolla is the communications director at Community Foundation Santa Cruz County. He sits on the board of Idealware, a national nonprofit helping organizations make smart decisions about technology. He’s also on the leadership team of ComNetwork Monterey Bay, along with Sharlene VanRooy. Luis’ prior life as a poet, public radio talk show host, SF Yellow Cab driver, nonprofit executive director, development officer and board member contribute to his love of two-way communications.
This event is open to all communications professionals working in the social sector at foundations, nonprofits, and businesses in Santa Cruz, San Benito, and Monterey counties. Register today! For additional information, please contact Sharlene Van Rooy.
