CFFSBC Scholarship Spotlight

As we transition back into the academic year, Community Foundation for San Benito County would like to congratulate our Ed Stephenson Memorial Scholarship recipient, Bridget Murphy, and our Timothy Conley Baldwin Leadership Scholarship recipient, Anton Borges, as they pursue higher education at their respective colleges. Both students attended San Benito High School and graduated in 2021.

Bridget Murphy is known as a personable and dedicated student-athlete by her teachers, parents, and peers. She excelled both in and out of the classroom as a Girl Scout, Swimmer, and Co-Choreographer for the San Benito Stage Company. An eager and inquisitive individual, Bridget’s curiosity led her to find delve into unclear concepts, fueling her drive for knowledge. She will be pursuing a degree in Chemistry at University of California Santa Barbara beginning this fall.

Anton Borges demonstrates qualities of leadership, compassion, and positive energy in all of his endeavors. These attributes are reflected in his achievements as an Eagle Scout, Cross Country & Track Team Captain, and his commitment to community service in San Benito County. Anton, a decorated and involved student-athlete, actively participating in the Associated Student Body in an Executive Office position. This fall, Anton will be majoring in Engineering at California Polytechnic State University as a freshman.

Since our very first scholarship in 2006, we have awarded over $400,000 to 298 scholarship recipients. We are proud to play a role in our recipient’s college success and are exceptionally grateful to all of our very generous donors, without whom this would not be possible.
